Special Olympics Support
In our everyday life it is
easy to just look past those that have a mental disability and say
"that poor guy". Being
the father of 2 special needs children has widely opened my eyes to
the vast world of Special Olympics.
My 11 year old son is Autistic and my 9 year
old daughter is ADHD with a hearing impairment and Special Olympics
has given them the opportunity to compete against others that they
normally would not be able to compete with.
In today's world of competitive sports at such
young ages, children with special needs really do get left behind.
This is where Special Olympics comes in.
Being that it is totally voluntary and not funded by the
state, the very existence falls on people giving both their time and
finances. If it weren't
for programs like Pay-it Forward, organizations like this would not
be able to provide these necessary social and physical activities to
our growing population of Special needs children.
The money that was donated to Virginia Special Olympics from
the Pay-it-Forward program will be going to the massive fundraiser
that is underway to help support the Area 11(Stafford and
Spotsylvania counties) Track and Field state championships team
participate at the Virginia State Championships in Richmond June
12-14.
Thanks to Paradigm for incorporating such a
wonderful program and the kids in the Virginia Special Olympics say
thank you as well!
