OneCall Foundation One Paradigm employee is utilizing Pay-It-Forward to support the OneCall Foundation. The OneCall Foundation, Incorporated is organized to raise public awareness and to provide charitable funds for the purpose of research, educational, medical treatments, medical care and relief for victims and family members who are financially burdened with medical bills resulting from extended medical care. Recipients will come from all walks of life, with no discrimination being made due to religious, ethnic, political or cultural backgrounds. OneCall has worked with several families this year. One family they plan on helping immediately is listed below: In 2007, Debbie’s 10 year old daughter fell and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Due to this, she has gone from an “A” student to a child who struggles with socializing, memory retention, sensory overload and anger management. She has had to be pulled from the county school system because they cannot provide an atmosphere appropriate for her to lean in. Debbie got her daughter enrolled in a progressive program at Emory, but insurance did not cover the entire cost of the program. While Debbie continues to deal with her daughter’s issues, she recently learned that her 15 year old son has Ankylosing Spondylitis. This is a painful and progressively debilitating disease that affects the spine, peripheral joints and body organs. The treatments are also very expensive. While this family does have insurance, it comes no where near to covering all the cost for treatments, medicine, therapy and the increasing transportation costs of getting her kids to treatments.
