Help for a Struggling Family
Our
family had planned to help a family that was homeless with four
children under six and one more on the way. Last week my family and
I bravely took all the kids (1, 2, 3 and 6 yrs) to relieve the mom
for the weekend. It was tiresome as well as a joy! We took all four
girls to the store to buy them coats, gloves and shoes. The church
is also helping to assist her with her rent. When we bought them
back home on Sunday, the mom was so happy! I know she's not in a
good position right now but I told her when she could to pay it
forward and pass along the blessings to someone else. She's due any
day with another girl.
There
are so many people out there that need help. I've been praying that
God would put me in someone's path to continue the pay it forward.
My husband inquired at the Hope House (a shelter for women and
children) what they were in need of. The Director said personal
items. My next step is to find out exactly how many women are in
this house and maybe get $15.00 gift cards for each of them at
Wal-Mart.
My
kids are getting involved too. After I told my family about what we
were doing at work, my son made the effort to tape the movie and we
all watched it together. I have a jar that my kids are willing to
contribute $1.00 each time they get allowance, so that we can keep
giving towards the pay it forward plan.
